Born in 1980 in Vitoria (Brazil), Marina Perez Simao graduated from the plastic art departement of the scola Guignard in Brazil and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris, France.
Her work demonstrates a rigour and a trenchancy not usually achieved outside of the art of self-portraiture. Her watery and gaunt figurations seem indeed to be the inchoate bodies of her own thoughts, codes in the artist's pictorial reflexivity.
